Currently, I teach at Central High School in Aurora, Colorado. I teach ninth grade Physical Science and Observational Astronomy. Physical Science is composed of four units, which include Force & Motion, Energy, Structure of Matter and Astronomy. The Observational Astronomy course is geared for juniors and seniors and requires students to attend one night class per week. Students in this class learn various astronomy concepts, night sky observing techniques and astrophotography. Students load, shoot, develop and print their own black and white photographs. The development of this course led to a Christa McAuliffe Fellowship and a Gustav Ohaus Award. |
