Melissa Miller’s Web Page

This is my biography page. I am a 6th grade science teacher at Holt Middle School in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Arkansas Tech University in 1985. I have taught a total of 15 years. I have been married for 15 years to James Miller, who teaches 5th grade science at Farmington Middle School. We have two children: Joshua, 13, and Amber, 10.

My science curriculum includes the strand: Human impact on the Environment. I am planning on implementing what was learned this summer about watershed quality. We are part of the Illinois River Watershed in Northwest Arkansas. I plan to teach my students about the watershed, then how to do water quality assessments concerning this watershed. As this curriculum is developed, it will be added to this web site.

Learning to make a web page is part of the curriculum from this summer’s Woodrow Wilson National Foundation Institute for Environmental Science.

George, one of our fearless leaders, took many pictures during the institute to show that we really did learn something.
