A little bit about Barbara—I am a ninth-grade teacher of Physical Science in a junior high school in Idaho Falls, Idaho. I have been teaching for 14 years. In the past, I have attended three national NSTA conferences, two regional conferences, and numerous workshops about teaching and science activities. In the summer of1999, I spent two weeks at Kennedy Space Center with Newmast and in the summer of 2000, I spent three weeks at Princeton University as part of the Woodrow Wilson Foundation Fellowships for teachers. In my district, I have taught classes on literacy assessment and have been involved in the alignment and sequence of instruction in Physical Science. This year, I also started a Science Olympiad program. I received a BA from the University of Washington, a BA from Evergreen State College, and a M Ed from City University (Seattle).
