Bio
Barry A. Van Deman serves as Section Head for the Science Literacy Section of ESIE. Prior to joining NSF, Barry served as Vice President of the Orlando Science Center, Director of the International Museum of Surgical Science, and Director of Education and Science at Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry. He has taught at the elementary, secondary, undergraduate, and graduate levels in science and science education, and served in school administration. He is author of Harcourt Science, an elementary science textbook series, and a variety of publications and articles for children, teachers, and parents.
