Tom Gorrell teaches at Pace University, and the School of Visual Arts in New York, NY. The courses include: The Biological World, Human Biology and Disease, Science of Food
Production and Nutrition, Anatomy and Physiology, Our Living Planet. He obtained his Ph.D. from Michigan State University in 1978, and B.Sc. from Purdue University in 1972. He is a member of the American Association
for the Advancement of Science and theAmerican Society for Microbiology.
His research interests include studies of microbes in the environment along with molecular and biochemical characterization of

Kristina MacMillan is a Courseware/Web Designer at Pace University, at the Center for Instructional Technologies. Her primary responsibilities involve working with faculty to
teach them Blackboard and other technologies to help them design and develop high quality courses for online, Web-assisted and and face-to-face delivery.
Kristina has extensive experience with Blackboard and other online course tools and software programs for distance education which she uses to develop and teach online and face-to-face workshops for faculty members. She also identifies Web based tools that can be used to assist educators in their efforts to support learners studying online or in a traditional classroom. She designs and maintains various Web sites at Pace University, including the Faculty Gateway and Online Pace.
Kristina received her B.A. from American University in Washington, DC. She now works full-time at the Center for Instructional Technologies and is also in the part-time MBA program at Pace University,
concentrating in Information Systems.
