A.P. Environmental Science & Chemistry
Favorite Courses:
A.P. Environmental Science
Particular Interests:
My particular interest is that it enthralls me to see students work towards a common goal from a well designed lesson that entails the 'you go figure it out' method. Using this method, students are given the tools and objective; however, it is up to them to come up with a question and a strategy to solve the question they posed. This enables teachers being guides and facilitators rather than the absolute source of knowledge. My interest(s) is to design an activity based curriculum for use at the Advanced Placement Environmental Science level. I am also interested in environmental science computer software, integrating MASSGIS into my curriculum, as well as having my students participate in the 2001-2002 Envirothon.

Science Dept. Chair/ Sixth
grade science
Favorite Courses:
My favorite unit is called Models and Designs in which students
design and construct machines to perform a certain function.
Particular Interests:
When I am not keeping up with my husband of 30 years, two sons aged 18 and 23 and my 150 sixth grade students, I act
professionally in films and television as well
as do photo print modeling. I also volunteer my acting
services to graduate Radio, Television, and Film students
at the Univ. of Texas working on thesis film projects. My
goal for this summer is to gain some knowledge on environmental topics
that are part of our new science curriculum. I also want to develop some
computer-based units of study and make a web page for my classes. I correspond with
several email lists and have enjoyed meeting people from all over the
world who share my interests. For physical fun, I take a Salsa dance class and
do water aerobics.
