Part 4
Your next task will be
to construct a poster that shows what you have learned. Your poster should
have the following things:
- Describe the job of a meteorologist in a short paragraph. Draw
and label tools they use and the skills they must have. Use the
Internet, encyclopedia, or other reference materials if necessary.
- Draw a diagram of the earth which shows the jet streams and the
effects of the Coriolis force. Use the information you learned
in Part 1 and Part 2. Label and explain your diagram.
- Find a weather map in a newspaper or on the internet. Paste it
on the poster and label the areas of high and low air pressure.
Draw arrows which show the direction the wind is moving.
- Cut pictures from a magazine which illustrate the idea of momentum
(for example, a figure skater or the movement of swinging balls). Paste them to the poster. Be prepared to explain
how the pictures show momentum.
- Be sure to make a colorful and creative title for your poster and
include the names of all the group members on your poster.
