| The purpose of the activities provided are to familiarize middle school students with the characteristics of jet streams as well as to emphasize the effect of the Coriolis force, air pressure, and conservation of momentum on the actions of jet streams. Exploration of meteorology as a career field is also included. In order for students to be able to conduct these activities, they should have a basic understanding of meteorology and geography. This WebQuest is not intended to introduce a weather unit. |
