Back to the Classroom: Comparison of biotic and abiotic factors in water samples from different ecosystems is directly applicable to the classroom. The use of CBLs is increasing as technology use becomes increasingly emphasized. Species richness is one accepted measure of biodiversity. Irrigated fields of any type would make an interesting study in addition to estuaries, marshes, or any body of water which receives runoff from agriculture, industry, golf courses, urban or residential areas, etc.
Extension Plate and culture water samples for a better microbial study. Coliform tests would be useful. Any group of organisms could be chosen to investigate biodiversity- macro, benthic, plankton, fish, snail, etc. |
