Hello! My name is Charles Lee and I teach chemistry, physics and principles of technology at Stewart County High School in Dover, Tennessee. I have been teaching for 28 years in a secondary school in Tennessee. I am a member of NSTA and have attended the National Conventions since 1988. I am a Career Ladder Level III teacher and have a 21st Century classroom. I try to keep up to date in technological tools for teaching and I use Powerpoint in all my classes. I also use CD rom technology in all my classes. I have a sister school in Saratov, Russia and have experimented with teleconferencing with students there.
Educational Background
I attended Austin Peay State
University in Clarksville, Tennessee and received a Bachelors of Science degree
in physics in 1972. In 1986 I started a
master’s program at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky and completed a
Master’s of Arts degree in Chemistry in 1989.
Activities
I am active in both NSTA and my state association, the Tennessee Science Teachers Association (TSTA). I am currently working on rewriting the standards for the physics portion of the State Science Framework. I have recently completed training in the Globe program and hope to get it established in my school in the year 2000-2001.
I enjoy biking and swimming.
I am a semi-professional guitar player
and have been for 35 years.
