Part of a new
district level program whose goal is to improve consistency in instruction
K-12. The major emphasis is to help all teachers to link instructional
practices with district and state standards, standardized tests and performance
assessments. My areas of expertise are with inquiry based instruction, and the national
and state science standards.
Chairperson,
International Activities Committee of the National Association of Biology
Teachers. The committee provides a forum to encourage biology teachers to have
international experiences. This year we are sponsoring a speaker from the CDC
who will speak on Biological Weapons, facilitating a symposium on Fulbright and
other similar opportunities, and hosting a reception where the WWNFF group from
Costa Rica will share their adventures.
Born in England and moved to the United States as a university student in 1971.

Moved to the “Land of Enchantment” – Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1981
Biology teacher at Gadsden High School 1989-2000
Two children – Paul, a musician, and Andrea, a high school senior. Husband, Paul coordinates study abroad programs at New Mexico State University
Two dogs – mixed breeds – Sheba and Beavis
Participated in FMF program to Japan in 1997.
