Biographical Information

I began my teaching career in Ckerokee a small town in Oklahoma as a 4th grade teacher. I teamed with the other 4th grade teacher and taught all the science. After three years in Cherokee I took a short break from teaching. After working a supervisor in a small company I began teaching again in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a science teacher for grades 2-6th grade. After a year in Tulsa I then began teaching in Claremore, Oklahoma as a 5th grade teacher and once again teamed with another 5th grade teacher so I taught all the science. I stayed in Claremore for 9 years. During this time I completed my masters in Environmental Science.

After completing my masters, I began teaching in Kansas City, Missouri in an environmental magnet school. I was one of three environmental science resource teachers. Our main function was to be the catalyst for the environmental theme within the building. We planned the environmental field experiences for the students in grades K – 5, taught science labs and worked with the teachers to infuse the theme within their classes. After eight of the most rewarding teaching I have ever experience I began working in the Blue Valley School District as the District Coordinating teacher developing a thirty acre outdoor education center.
