The effects of project-based learning

Came
to the U.S. to pursue a degree in Dentistry. Graduated from Hunter College with
a degree in Biochemistry. After went to the University of Connecticut Health Center Dental School for one year. Unfortunately, my mother got sick and
I was unable to continue my education.
I then applied and studied Nuclear
Medicine at Mt.Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Upon completion, I was
doing a bit of free-lancing at Long Island College Hospital . After two years,
I was offered a position to teach Nuclear Medicine Technology to college
students. I have done this successfully for the past eight years and on a whim
I decided to go into teaching high school.
My first summer teaching position
began in the summer of 1996, when I was called to work as a substitute teacher.
I did not realize that I was being observed until I was called to the A.P.’s
office. He told me that I should make teaching my career, as he finallly had
someone who was actually teaching a class. Hmmmm! I thought ! So I gave it a
try and here I am in it for the past four years, reaping benefits as I see my students excel on their Regents
examinations and move on to college.
