Participant Information:
Sue
Glennon is a 6th grade teacher at Northdale Middle School in the Anoka-Hennepin
School District in Minnesota. She teaches Science, Reading
and English. Her 6th graders have studied whales and their environment
using the "Voyage of the Mimi" and simple machines using Legos. Curriculum
changes this year will incorporate more physical science. Units will
include: Forces and Motion, Magnetism and Electricity, Sound and
Light, and the Earth's Waters.
Sue has
attended several summer workshops funded by NSTA including the Teacher
Research Update Experience at the University of Florida and SEA Experience
in Woods Hole. She once encountered wolves in the Minnesota northwoods
near Isabella on a winter night. A group she was with howled and
were answered by the alpha male and female of a pack for several minutes.
