I have been a middle school teacher for six years in Calhan, Colorado. I teach 7th grade life science and 8th grade earth science. This summer I have been involved with the Woodrow Wilson Institute www.woodrow.org in the Monitoring & Modeling work group. The topic my team chose is "Feedback loops inherent in the biological processes in competition and predation. We will do this through a study of wolf reintroductions into areas former ranges in which they have gone extinct, by both collecting our own 'data'(using computer simulations), and also reading about data collected by scientists in the field. From our reading we will choose as a group the pro's and con's of reintroduction. Then, we will read about what actually happened since reintroduction using models to see what did and didn't predict concerning social/economic issues.
