Denise Andrews

I am Denise Graham Andrews, from Graham, N. C. and I teach at Graham Middle School. So, the necklace that I frequently wear that says "Graham" serves a triple purpose. When my students see it they always think, "what school spirit she has!" I have been teaching for 25 years at the same school. My bachelor's degree is from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Heels!) in Science Education and my master's degree is from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in biology with a concentration in microbiology and genetics. I have also taught microbiology and general biology at the local community college (at night--whew!!) as well as a science methods course for teachers. I have taught many things in my career (you know how middle school teachers must be very versatile)--physical education, science for grades six, seven, and eight, health, and last year I taught math and science. I am hoping to return to teaching all seventh grade science this year. I love middle schoolers (well, at least most of the time) and love teaming. I serve my school as a mentor for new teachers, science department chairman, and as a member of the budget committee. In my spare time, I teach aerobics to Senior citizens and love to travel , read, and work on my family tree. I have a cute, furry feline named Misha.
