David Bahamundi Claudio

I was born in New York on November 14, 1968, son of Gilberto Bahamundi and María E. Claudio.  When I was three years old, my family moved to Puerto Rico where I grew up. In 1986, I entered the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus.  After two years, I joined in the United States Army as a Target Acquisition and Surveillance Radar Repair technician.  After the training, I went back to the University and finish my Bachelor Degree in Physics.

Right now I'm working as a physics and computer sciences teacher in Petra Mercado High School in Humacao, Puerto Rico. I enjoy being the School -To-Work Coordinator Teacher in my school. In this program I had the opportunity to work with the Curriculum Committee in the integration of the work market skills in our course curriculum. As part of my job in this committee I have develop few lecture modules related with physical concepts. Also I have been creating classroom activities using technology such as computers and graphics calculators based in the construtivism philosophy.

I belong to the Puerto Rico Statewide Systematic Initiative (PR-SSI) as a resource teacher doing physical sciences and computer sciences workshops for elementary teachers.

In the last two years I have been participating in different workshops:

International Society of Technological Education (ISTE)

Texas Instruments

Woodrow Wilson Institute
