Irene Schaperdoth obtained an Environmental Engineering degree, which is the equivalent of a Masters degree, at Technische Universitat Berlin, Germany.  Before obtaining 
this, she worked as a medical lab technician in Mainz, Germany.  She has been at Princeton University since the Fall 1995.  At Princeton, she has worked on various projects concerning the interactions of biota and metals in low concentrations.
