- A Day with NASA - Engineers and scientists visit schools to make presentations to students about NASA programs. NASA education staff trains teachers to conduct pre-visit activities. During presentations, students will be actively engaged in one of the following subjects:
1. Living and Working in Space (Grades K-1)
2. Earth Science (Grades 2-4)
3. The Earth/Moon (Grades 2-4)
4. Exploring the Universe (Grades 4-6)
5. Exploring the Solar System (Grades 4-6)- Aerospace Education Services Program - AESP programs are designed to support the efforts of NASA to initiate and sustain dramatic and enduring education reforms for science, mathematics, and technology and to improve and upgrade the scientific, mathematical, and technological literacy of
all students. The NASA Aerospace Education Services Program representative in each state has a thorough knowledge of the national education standards and benchmarks, the state education frameworks, and the local curricula in science, mathematics, technology, and geography. The specialist's responsibilities include networking with state and local stakeholders to plan
systemic reform initiatives.- CERES Students' Cloud Observations On-Line Project - Langley Research Center. The S'COOL Project (Students' Cloud Observations On-Line) is a component of the Clouds and the Earth's Radiant Energy System - CERES for short - project of NASA's Mission to Planet Earth. The Project is being developed to involve schools around the world in making ground truth measurements for the CERES instrument. Background materials and instructions for
teachers and students are available via the Internet, and in print form.- Community Involvement Programs The Community Involvement Program is an extended event featuring lecture/demonstrations with NASA models and equipment, teacher enhancement workshops, hands-on classroom visits, and programs for the general public, involving not only
schools, but service clubs, local government officials, and the private sector in a community-wide program that places special emphasis on the educational value of the Nation's space program. CIPs are as varied as the communities in which they are held, but all are designed to involve the entire community as much as possible.
