Night noises included holler monkeys, tree frogs and crickets. Mornings were greeted with parrots, holler monkeys, and numerous other birds.

Research project was to study the methods that Tillandsia, a bromeliads, uses to get water. We learned how the water chambers store water and water enters through trichromes on the lower third of the leaves. Stomates were located on both sides of the leaf.
