Ken is a junior high science teacher, who
has been teaching at
Laraway School for over thirty years.
Laraway School is on the Southeast side
of Joliet, Illinois, USA.
Ken is the science teacher there. Actually,
Ken is the science
department because he is the only science teacher
in the
junior high. He teachers two classes
each of sixth, seventh and eighth grades.
He also serves as a resource for the other
teachers.
Over the years, Ken has written a few articles
that have been published in various
magazines. The subjects have been varied, as
have the magazines. A few samples:

Ken also teaches classes for teachers. He teaches
an outdoor education course called
Seasonal Science Methods four times
a year [once each season] for
Governors State University, University Park,
Illinois.
He also teaches about using rockets in education
for Aurora University, Aurora, Illinois.
He has also taught at Northern Illinois University
and Joliet Junior College.
Ken is heavily involved in giving workshops
and presentations at conventions
and institutes.
Recently he has presented at the 5th International
Space Station Conference in Houston,
the National Science Teachers Association National
Convention
in Boston, the Will County Space Institute
and the Illinois Groundwater Conference.
He also consults on educational matters.
The opportunity to study in Costa Rica is a
once-in-a-lifetime challenge. The
Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation
sends teachers into
the rain forest to increase understanding and
allow teachers to bring back their
experiences and knowledge to colleagues and
students.
