Key words: Using literature to enhance science instruction

Text: Teachers are capable of enhancing science instruction by utilizing literature (prose and poetry) to inititate, support and conclude class activities regarding environmental issues. Extension or bonus assignments, especially for students who show greater strength and interest in the arts, might also be considered.
