Activity Descriptions</H1

Anthropogenic Sources Lab
Two activities are included here.  The first is a KWL activity that is used to introduce the topic and also to assess what students have learned.  The second is a lab that has students investigate automobiles as a source of carbon dioxide and other pollutants.

Magnitude of Global Climate Change

This activity has students graph climate data and carbon dioxide levels for the past 250 years, analyze the data, and predict future trends.

Impacts of Global Climate Change
As students have seen in the past two activities, humans are contributing to a rise in CO2 concentrations which seems to be contributing to a rise in temperature.  The two activities included here let students investigate what changes might be brought about by this increase.
  • How do increased CO2 levels affect plant growth?
  • How will global warming affect my state?
