ANA G. LOPEZ

My teaching experience for the last 24 years has included grade levels from 1st to 8th grade.   Thirteen of these years have been in a Bilingual classroom working with students acquiring English as a second language.  The last 8 years have been working at a Humanities based magnet school.

For the last four years, I have also been involved in Science Staff Development in Fresno, California.  Part of my responsibilities have included working under the California Science Implementation Network (CSIN), and the Fresno Systemic Initiative.

I have also worked for Project MOST (Minority Oriented Science Teachers), and Project STAR (Science Thematically Across the Realm), through California State University, Fresno.  I have also been involved in the writing of case studies on Equity Issues on Science Education.

This summer I have been involved in the Woodrow Wilson Summer Institute on Global Warming at Princeton University.  The objective of the institute was to create a web product that would be an inquiry based project that would be usable for science teachers in grades 5-12.

It is my intent to make myself available through this site to not only answer questions you may have about the materials in this unit, but to also help address questions and concerns teachers working with English as a Second Language students may have.
