For the past 25 years, I have been teaching 4th,
5th, and 6th graders in the Wichita Public
Schools in Wichita, Kansas. Currently I teach 6th graders Language
Arts and Science in the Pre-International Baccalaureate Program.
The Pre-IB serves to prepare the students for the IB Diploma Program in
grades 11 and 12.
I spent July 1998, at Princeton University with
the Woodrow Wilson Environmental Science Institute. The focus of
the institute was to combine global climate change concepts with inquiry
based science.
Presently, Robinson 6th grade Pre-IB students are
performing collaborative environmental experiments on the campus and telecommunicating
the data to the Global Lab in Cambridge,
Massachusetts. They are also creating a butterfly garden and planting
a variety of trees to increase the biodiversity on the campus.
Outside my school, my interests include playing
tennis, bridge, and pinochle.
