Subject: CDC collaboration for TORCH
If you're planning a proposal to WWNFF for a TORCH
Institute, the following message from Donna Stroup of the Centers for
Disease Control may be of interest.
"For TORCH programs incorporating the CDC EXCITE
(Excellence in Curriculum Integration through Teaching Epidemiology)
unit presented at the 1998 WWNFF Summer Biology Institute in Princeton.
CDC staff have offered to assist teachers conducting
TORCH Institutes in integrating the EXCITE curriculum. Assistance
includes consultation in the development of training materials,
suggestions of epidemiology professionals in the TORCH Institute
geographical area, or other assistance.
TORCH leaders may contact Gwen Ingraham, EXCITE
Coordinator, Epidemiology Program Office (Mail Stop C08), 1600 Clifton
Rd., NE, Atlanta, GA 30333; phone 404-639-3674, fax 404-639-3950; e-mail
gni1@cdc.gov <mailto:gni1@cdc.gov> <mailto:gni1@cdc.gov
<mailto:gni1@cdc.gov> > ."
We hope to see lots of proposals by November 15, 1998.
