Dear ESI98 Alumni,
I know you have been eager to see your projects available in polished
form. The editing/vetting work has taken longer than originally
anticipated, and is still ongoing. Nevertheless, because of the
urgency of some of the more basic fixes -- like broken links that are
demanding passwords -- we have now placed partially-edited versions of
your projects online.

The version that was previously in your project folder has been
saved in an "orig" subfolder. We will keep this "orig" subfolder for a
few months after the final editing is done, in order that you can
recover any changes you made to the projects while we were editing.

Here's the part of the editing work that is now mostly complete:
* fixing broken links (including those demanding passwords)
* adding headers and footers
* scientific vetting of Princeton ESI
* HTML cleanup of Rutgers ESI

Tasks not yet complete:
* REMOVAL OF IMAGES USED WITHOUT CREDIT OR PERMISSION
* scientific vetting of Rutgers ESI
* HTML cleanup of Princeton ESI
* replacement of static email links with database links
* trimming of image file sizes

Any significant changes we've made so far on your project have been
listed in a file CHANGES.txt in your folder. We will send each team the
complete CHANGES file when the work is all done.
