1. Don't use frames. Many people (esp. businesses) think that frames
are panaceas for navigation. They cause more problems than they solve.
Visitors can't bookmark a page, for example.
2. Don't try to showcase the latest "Web Technology". This is
problematic for those without the fanciest Web browsers and fast
modems. You'll lose them forever.
3. Avoid Complex URLs-- People try to determine information from the
URL. So make the filenames short, lowercase, and intuitive.
4. Avoid Non-standard link colors-- This confuses visitors.
5. Remove outdated information. Remember the more links you include,
the more you'll need to comb the site checking them!
6. Avod long load times-- We've talked about shrinking graphic files.
Shoot for a sub 30 second load time! People aren't willing to wait on
their 14.4K modem!
