Activity B: Web Site Project

THINGS THAT WORK:

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
*Working from a template is beneficial to the construction process.

*SubHeadings found useful included: Introduction and Framework,
Identifying banner, consistent background color and design, Eye catching
title, names of participating teachers linked to e-mail and personal
web page.

*One possible format included a "cell format" which could be linked to
further information within the cell heading. Headings included:Web
resources, Photo Gallery, Background, Activity and Inquiriies, and
Classroom Applications and Activities.

*Having high quality equipment such as the digital camera is helpful.

*Having guidlines with the freedom to interpret them as needed was
experienced by those groups who were given instructions on how to use
the template.

*Items which were considered helpful were having many internal links,
and having a Summary Abstract as a way to generate more ideas about the
project.

*Descriptions of the Web site author's experiences while constructing
this page were seen to be an interesting insight into the background of
the process.

*Using the remote sensing program STELLAR was found to have useful
applications for the classroom.

*Netscape Composer is valuable to all parties.

THINGS THAT NEED WORK
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________
*The institute's time element could be considered a limiting resource.

*All equipment should have more availability.

*Some groups would like to be able to use thumbnails on their web pages.

*Allowing for more time to work on individual projects would incorporate
all the various working styles of the participants.

*It would be very helpful to the Visual Learners of the group if more
Graphic Aids, Agendas, And Hand-Outs were made available.

*Some of the participants definitely felt a need for more instructions
on how to align to National Standards while writing Curriculum.
