we agreed that the template proposed is good to go---content, teaching &
assessment
CONTENT: should be organized into broad categories
biosphere
hydrosphere
atmosphere
lithosphere/geosphere
use visual cues(icons) to symbolize the "sphere" involved.
TEACHING: ideas/topics by
- group activities
- hands-on labs
- individual project
ideas
-user friendly links
etc....be sure to have a "resource" link on every page
ASSESSMENT: group activities
application/implimentation of ideas and
concept etc....
Feedback: Measuring CO2----Dr. Jorge Sarmiento
mind boggling and rich...nice to see that one can
integrate evolution and climate change
very interesting, liked the interdisciplinary
approach, excellent use of graphs, speaker gave balance to his
presentation where other scientists would not agree with him, but used
his information to support his opinions.
like the idea of giving access to info. on website
visuals to convey very complex global trends were
x-c-lent, liked the fact that science is a very interactive high
processes-linkage between scientific processes--SCIENCE IS NO LONGER IN
THE CLOSET!!!!!---
liked u.s. forest information, poss. changes of terr.
update
photosynthesis, carbon cycle....all theories used
were great
the dr.'s lecture was captivating, stimulating and his presentation
allowed us to reflect on the issues presented.......could relate to the
audience, admit he was "one of us", recognized "all' types of teachers.
Candid and scientific!!!!
we would like a hard-copy of the lecture, graphs used, data atc....
over all the group thought that this activity was great and look forward
to more meetings..........
p.s. i decided to be brief...well, because it seems like all groups came
up with info that's somewhat over-lapping(sp???):-);-) and i am
sleepyyyyyy
bedank
