You raise a real concern about communicating your summer 97 experiences to
others, such as schools which don't have the software you used, including
STELLA. For those of you looking to distribute pre-built STELLA models to
colleagues or students, please encourage your colleagues and students to
download a free copy of the STELLA Run-time off the HPS web-site, located
at http://www.hps-inc.com. Also available free from the HPS web site is
the new version 5.0 demo, which includes a pre-built ecology Learning
Environment, and models (with interfaces) from across the curriculum.
I'd like to assure you that HPS is sensitive to the budgetary constraints
schools face and we are doing what we can to keep STELLA affordable as we
continue to improve it. Towards that end, HPS is pleased to announce that
pre-college institutions can now purchase STELLA 5.0 site licenses, which
allow schools to load the STELLA software on as many computers as exist in
the school, for $500 (basic) and $900 (Research)--less than the single-copy
price for non-academic users.
Thank you for the continued lively exchange. Please don't hesitate to
contact me if you have any questions or need additional information.
Best regards,
Jane Soderquist
