Field Work Site

Using topographic maps, two watersheds were found that were very similar (comparing contour lines) except for how the land was used in the surrounding drainage area.  Both sites are within a five mile area and upon inspection the soils appeared to have the same properties. However, in this study no soil tests were performed.  The two sites are listed below:
Crop Land Use Watershed Site
Rocky Brook in Hightstown,NJ

Measurements and sample collected close to 299 Ward Street under the New Jersey Turnpike Bridge.  Surrounding crops were corn, soybeans, and potted  perennial flowers.

Suburban Land Use Watershed
Site
Bear Brook in East Windsor, NJ
Located 0.80 miles northwest of Hwy 130 and  0.75 miles southeast of Route 571 between Princeton and Hightstown.  Measurements and sample taken on Dutch Neck Road and Bear Brook intersection.
