Science Content Standards
(taken from National Standards)

 We anticipate the following science content standards for grades 5-8 and grades 9-12 based on the standards developed by  the National Research Council to be covered as the classroom unit is implemented.
 
 

Science Content Standards: 5-8

    Science as Inquiry

    CONTENT STANDARD A:
    As a result of activities in grades 5-8, all students should develop

        Abilities necessary to do scientific inquiry

        Understandings about scientific inquiry
 

    Physical Science

    CONTENT STANDARD B:
    As a result of their activities in grades 5-8, all students should develop an
    understanding of

        Properties and changes of properties in matter

 

    Life Science

    CONTENT STANDARD C:
    As a result of their activities in grades 5-8, all students should develop understanding
    of

        Regulation and behavior

        Populations and ecosystems

        Diversity and adaptations of organisms

     CONTENT STANDARD D:
    As a result of their activities in grades 5-8, all students should develop an
    understanding of

        Structure of the earth system

           Science and Technology

    CONTENT STANDARD E:
    As a result of activities in grades 5-8, all students should develop

        Abilities of technological design

        Understandings about science and technology

 We anticipate the following science content standards for grades 9-12 based on the National Standards of the National Research Council to be covered as the classroom unit is implemented.
