Scalar Aspect:
Aspects of the study of habitat which change as size of components or the
intensity of the interaction between components change.
Temporal Aspect: The measurements of the habitat which are expressed over an extended time period.
Because of the interactive nature of these aspects often a focus of study or particular activity may overlap between two or all three. To lend some organization to the access of activities we have associated two or three subdivisions to each aspect. When these subdivisions are accessed you will find some background information to place the subdivision in context within the overall study of habitat islands and corridors, a list of definitions, and the various activities you can use with your students. Because of the interactive nature of the components of habitat, we have tried to cross reference definitions and activities to other subdivisions where the connections are most obvious.
