Flo, I think it would be wonderful to see some student work. In fact I
hope that over time, the ESI97 site will begin to reflect more of you
and your ESI colleagues' experience in implementing inquiry and
environmental science in real schools. (If it's OK with you, I'll put a
link to the student projects on ESI97 front page, once you publish
them.) To answer your question about how to publish:
Technically:
Basically this is done by the Netscape "File Upload" feature.
If you don't have the web publishing directions John Sacco
handed out in summer, see http://www.woodrow.org/web/publish/
for a brief refresher. If you are missing the personal
publishing address and password, ask me.
Organizationally:
As long as the file names don't conflict, you can just put
all the files into your project directory. I'd recommend a
separate table of contents page for the project collection,
with links to individual student projects. Then create a
link from your main page to this table of contents.
If, to keep things better organized, you'd like to have a
separate folder to hold this collection, you can create a
subfolder of your main project directory, using any
full-powered FTP program. If you are using Netscape only
(as we did this summer), ask me, and I can create the
subdirectory for you.
