Several colleges have expressed interest in hosting 1997 ES TORCH
institutes. These colleges are looking for local Environmental Science
Woodies who would like to collaborate with them. They learned about you
from mailings from WWLPT sent and WWLPT networking.
If everything falls into place, we will provide a site with $200 per
participant (around $5000) AND pay you a $2000 stipend. It's a wonderful
way for you to broaden and deepen your environmental science knowledge.
It's a continuation of the July 1997 institute.
So, two questions:
1. If you are NOT planning to submit a proposal for an institute in your
region this summer -- but you would be interested in co-facilitating one
with a local college that contacts WWLPT -- please let me know.
2. If you are submitting a proposal December 8th or have already
submitted one, please let me know if you're willing to work outside your
region. (So far, only three of the ES 97 Woodies have indicated they're
willing to travel in Summer 1998 which is understandable because it's
two more weeks on top of presenting for two weeks in their own region.)
