1998: International Year of the Ocean

C.A.N.NJ Marine and Coastal Science

Through a collaborative research effort, students and teachers of the C.A.N.NJ. coalition will support and promote the domestic and international conservation and management of all living marine resources. Through the analysis of data collected from both coasts and satellite mapping, students seek to find a link between geological processes and successful fisheries off both coasts. In doing so, students' work will focus both on the abiotic and biotic components of the ocean systems including the dynamics behind upwelling, its influence on planktonic life, water analysis, and the impact of these factors on fisheries.
