Mike Rampino (mrr1@is3.nyu.edu) alerts us to a special 2-hour Discovery
Channel offering - "Amazing Earth" It includes location segments from
great geologic localities around the world, including some filmed in South
America and Africa during Mike's trips there last year. Great special
effects as well. The show premiered on Dec 13, and will be aired again
Saturday, December 19, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and midnight and Sunday,
December 27, at 3 p.m. ET/PT. See
