I am concerned that the revised schedule has deemphasized GIS. GIS is I
believe an important tool for environmental studies and I was much
looking forward to learning more about its application by professionals.
I see now that there is to be a demonstration of GIS on one day only. I
hope that there are staff on hand who are operationally familiar with
GIS programs such as ArcView and will be available to those of us who
have an interest in it. I for one have gone to some expense and trouble
to obtain GIS software and memory upgrade from my computer in
anticipation of using this tool with our field research. I hope that the
staff will toss around the idea of more GIS emphasis if there is
expertise available.
