Hello from Lanark, IL.

This is team 3 finally reporting in. Our team is
Rick Weber and Lenny Freidhof.

I am Lenny. And my e-mail addresses for the summer are:

lfreidhof@internetni.com or chemguy@aeroinc.net

Rick does not have and address yet but you can reach him through me.

After much consideration we have decided to work on nitrate-loading
in streams and also sedimentation of our man-made lake near school.

We live in a small rural farming community which has a lake community
nearby. The lake was established about 18 years ago and has had a lot
of trouble with leakage through the limestone formations underneath it.

Rick and I thought it would make for a nice study of how bringing this
lake to the area has changed the local environment. From the deer
population to the water conditions from the houses on the lake and
their septic systems to seasons changes when the water levels change
drastically the lake can be a great learning situation for our students.
We have done some pH studies on areas of the lake but would be interested
in looking at all aspects of water studies of the lake and the streams
that feed it and drain it. We do not have any equipment for field
studying yet but have some money reserved when we decide what we need.
Any info or help we can gain from this workshop will be most helpful.

See you in late June. We are eager to work with you all this summer
