Linda:

GREEN will use e-mates and e-probes during the GREEN sessions at the
Institute. E-mates/probes are similar to Texas Instrument tool. The e-mate
is a sturdy Mac labtop to which probes are attached to conduct monitoring.
One interesting feature of the e-mate is its ability to do sophisticated
spreedsheets, pie charts, etc. without transfering data to another
computer. GREEN is working with the Concord Consortium and the Knowledge
Revolution to create new probes.
You are right in that it is wonderful to have the computer in the field!
