The project on nitrate loading of stream waters was my suggestion, and I'm
glad that you are interested in taking it up! I'm even more excited that
you seem to bringing to the institute a great deal of expertise--certainly
more than I have in the actual mechanics of nitrate determinations! While I
can help guide you in the overall structure of the project--the hypotheses
to be tested--it sounds like you are already up and running in that regard!
When I suggested this project, I was a bit concerned about actual mechanics
of nitrate determinations. It sounds as if you are truly blessed in the
equipment that your district has available. If you would be willing to
bring the instrumentation you have avalailable, especially the portable
spectrophotometer, ph meter, conductivity meter, and the HACH kits, not
only your project but (if you are willing) those of others would benefit
immensely!
I look forward to joining you in what I think will be a fascinating project!
Cheers!
Mark
