TERM PROJECT: WHAT IF . . . . . . . .?

Suppose there had been no marble. Would the Greeks have had a much different architectural style?

If Rodin had had sheet aluminum as a material, would the statue "The Thinker" have looked the same or would it even have existed?

The purpose of this assignment is to do a "what if . . . . .?" mind game. Consider physical substances, technological advancements, theories, even everyday materials as they relate to individual or societal development. You are to predict the effect, either immediate or long-range, of one of these in the following way:

Either grant a person (or culture) a substance (or advance, etc.) which was not available to that person (or culture) at that time, or deprive them of something that they actually would have had.

Your focus should concentrate on a logical development of consequences and draw upon a variety of resources.
