On-Line Seminar (Spring, 1997)

Using TI-82 graphing calculators, Calculator-Based Lab(CBL) units, and Computers for collecting and analyzing experimental data.

Lesson 1:

Learning to use the features of a TI-82 Graphing Calculator. Download the self-guided tutorial for using the various features of the graphing calculator at TI-82 Instructions These materials are suitable as an introductory lesson with the calculator for both teachers and students.

Lesson 2:

Download an experiment to determine the % of air space in sand using a TI-82 Graphing Calculator. This is a practical application of many of the operations of the TI-82, in a format that will provide more guided practice for using the calculator. This lab is available for downloading at Percent Airspace in Sand .

Lesson 3:

Learn the basic operations and functions of Texas Instruments Calculator-Based Lab(CBL) Unit for collecting and storing experimental data. A simple lab activity will emphasize these features. This information is available for downloading at Using the CBL .

Lesson 4:

Download an experiment that uses both the TI-82 calculator and CBL Unit to analyze an experimental event. Also learn how to import this data into a computer, using a GraphLink cable, for further study with Vernier's Graphical Analysis or to merge the information into a lab report. This information is available for downloading at CBL/TI-82 Experiment
