Today you will be doing an activity using internet technology as a research
tool. You will be studying the distribution of homonid fossils around the
world.

You will need a map of the world for this project. Click on  Map  and print
the world map you see on the
screen.
 
 

Go to  Homonid Activity and scroll down to the introduction to the
activity. Print the activity .
 

Go to   Geography  and learn how to determine a location using longitude and
a latitude. Plot all the points for Homo Erectus on your map.
 

Go to question 3 in the discussion section of the lab. You will need to
search the web sites below to find the locations of the fossil finds. Locate
a minimum of 5. Additional finds will give you extra credit.

You are done on the internet. Take the rest of the activity back to your
desk and plot the rest of the geographic points for the other species of
early man.
