Freeware for Macintosh Users: clip2gif Program

The "clip2gif" program is a freeware utility for the Macintosh to convert PICT, GIF, TIFF and JPEG images or the clipboard to any of these formats. Once a file has been converted to a GIF or JPEG file, then it can be used to create images for web pages.

Anything on the Macintosh's monitor can be captured as a PICT file by pressing the command, shift, 3 keys all at once. The PICT file will appear on the harddrive with the name, "Picture #"(the # value will be from 1 to 9). A limit of 9 pictures can be taken and stored by this method. To capture additional screen images, some of the files will have to be throw out with the trash. Simple Text can be used to open these pictures and edit their size and portion selected.

The clip2gif program was written by Yves Piguet and can be downloaded by visiting their homepage at clip2gif Homepage
