[feature icon]The New World of Biotechnology
-----------------------

Not only do we teachers need to prepare students with the content of biology, we should give serious thought to how our world continues to develop.  What other development in any other field will have this impact and relevance? What might our students' futures be like? Perhaps...

  • food will be strictly 'engineered' in increasing diversity
  • health care will radically change to true prevention instead of treatment
  • organ & limb replacements will be real and organic
  • microbes will be slaves instead of scourges
  • Other predications??

There is a whole 1993 module of biotechnology-related activities located on our web site, as well as the 1994 module of "Population to Molecules" containing information and activities.  A project concerning bioethic decision making is part of the collection.

What idea would you like us to feature? us!
