I will begin my twelfth year of teaching in the
fall of 2000. I have taught in two states and three different
schools. Although I have taught chemistry and physics, most of my
teaching career has been spent teaching biology and honors biology. In
1999 I received National Board for Professional Teaching Standards
certification and just recently (FINALLY) finished my Master's Degree. I
have been a presenter for state and national meetings primarily teaching how
to integrate technology into the secondary science classroom. I am
co-chairman of my current science department of 26 fellow colleagues. My
primary responsibility is to facilitate technology and professional
development.
I have two daughters, Laci and Lauren, ages 15 and 12 respectively. They are VERY active young ladies and keep me very busy. They are my greatest joy and serve as my primary hobby. I also enjoy reading, traveling, walking, and a little gardening. My newest hobby is learning how to make and manipulate digital photos and scanned images. Perhaps the thing I enjoy most (besides my daughters) is life long learning. That was my motivation for applying for this workshop-I look forward to all that I am sure I will experience and learn through this great opportunity. |
