Randy has lived in the Kansas City area most of his forty-six years. He was raised in the working class suburb of Raytown, Missouri along with his four siblings. His father and mother were a carpenter and homemaker respectively. While attending Northwest Missouri State University (Maryville, Mo.) on a four-year basketball scholarship, Randy met his wife Paula. Upon college graduation and marriage, he and Paula taught 9 years in the Northwest Missouri areas of Maysville and Cameron. With the addition of two beautiful daughters Amy (1980) and Emily (1982), the Dix family moved to Olathe, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City in 1985. Presently, Paula teaches K-6 General Music and Randy teaches Sophomore Biology and Advanced Placement Biology. Randy has always loved the out doors and uses his adventures hunting and fishing to enhance his Biological teaching. Many years were spent coaching summer girl's softball teams and winter basketball, but with both girls in college, now it is time for new adventures at Lawrenceville. |
