Born in 1952 at Fort Dix, New Jersey and raised in
middle Tennessee with four sisters and one brother. My parents are from
the Northeast: my mom a New Englander and my dad a first generation Sicilian
from Rochester, NY. I love the woods and creeks or rural Tennessee and
have been a tomboy forever (now they call me an outdoor educator and science
teacher). I started college the summer after high school (1970) and
finally received my BA 19 years later (I'm an experienced learner and had o
take breaks from the classroom). I've been a hippie homesteader, a farm
manager, a movie sales rep, a carpenter and painter, a retreat manager, a cook
and a caterer. When I decided to get my Masters, I finished that in a
year and a half (in Experimental Education).
I moved to Utah from North Carolina and have been at Wasatch Academy for 6 years now. Every chance I get, I'm off exploring a new corner of this state. I have four sons, a wonderful partner of 18 years, and two granddaughters. My interests are extremely varied, I just got a new electric bass for my 48th birthday. I've always wanted to play rock and roll with my husband and now I am. My heroes are Martin Luther King, Joni Mitchell, Donella Meadows, Terry Tempest Williams and Barry Lopez. We make this road by walking and so far it's been quite a stroll. |
